A Burberry Beauty Haul

Visiting the standalone stores of some of the premium beauty houses in Covent Garden has been on my list for a while…..I know I know where have I been?  I’m not exactly far from the place but it is an effort jumping on the tube and for some reason every time I do decide to make a point of travelling into Central London, there is some sort of parade going on and I’m caught up in the crowds – how I get myself into these situations I really don’t know.

Well, I finally made it to the Burberry Beauty store in Covent Garden a few weeks ago.  It’s smaller than I expected but nonetheless has a good ambience about it.  Makeup wise I’m new to the brand.   I had some things I wanted to buy purely because they have been raved about in the blogging community – the Sheer Eyeshadow in Pale Barley and their Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base, however, a test in store meant both weren’t really for me.  I just wasn’t wowed enough and I generally don’t deviate from my foundation anymore so why buy something that will just gather dust.

What I did do though was compensate for this by buying three items which did appeal to me…..I was never going to walk out empty-handed was I?

Of course a lipstick would feature and the one I chose was the Lip Velvet No 409 in Honeysuckle.  This is a part of Burberry’s matte line and is an understated warm coral.  I’m one of those people who always mixes my lipsticks but I can wear this on its own and the staying power is great as is the colour pay-off.

Secondly is the Nude Powder Sheer Luminous Pressed Powder in Ochre No 20.  Whilst the finish is as its name suggests, sheer and luminous, the oil control for me is not so good.  I can probably get about 4 hours of wear from this before the shine starts to creep through and my skin isn’t even that oily.

Lastly is Light Glow Natural Blush in No 2 Cameo.   Yes another pink blusher after I just bought Flowerchild by Becca.  This one, however, is matte and is a dusky pink.  This is a great suits all colour and one of their best sellers.

So there it is, a mini Burberry Beauty haul, something I’ve wanted to say for ages!  My favourite of the lot….? The lipstick of course. x
