• Concealer: Nars Vs Urban Decay

Being a Nars Sheer Glow Foundation lover, of course I’m going to have the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.  I can’t deny that the pairing is good but when something that promises to be just as good, if not better, comes along in the form of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer,  I have to do a comparison….right?

So, here’s the low down.  I don’t use either of these for my under-eyes.  I need something way more heavy-duty for that and the colour in both just isn’t right.  What I do use these for is to add a bit more coverage when my foundation hasn’t done the job or to cover specific blemishes.

The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer is exactly that – radiant and creamy.  It’s a lot thicker in consistency than the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer and if you go overboard it can settle into fine lines and look a bit cakey. The best way to apply it is to start with small dots wherever you are going for coverage, blend and then apply a bit more if needed.  The finish is flawless and there are 10 colours to choose from, ranging from fair to dark skin tones.  Most of the time I use the colour Custard which gives a great highlighting effect but in the summer when my skin is a bit darker, I mix it up with the colour Ginger.

The Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer is not as thick as the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and no matter how much I apply it just blends seamlessly into the skin and never looks cakey.  The coverage and finish is pretty much on par as well, there are 8 colours to choose from and it’s cheaper at £17.50 compared to the Nars one which is £22.  I have the colour Medium Light Neutral, which comes up quite beige on my skin tone.  I can make it work, but I feel like it could be better.

So, the question is which one do I prefer?  Well….I have to say the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer.  I’m biased, I know, but it covers what it is supposed to cover, it compliments my foundation and although I wish the consistency was a bit more like the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer, I can’t fault the colour match, which for me is really important.

So, have you tried either of these before?  Which is your favourite?
