• The Perfect Blusher & Highlighter Combo

Becca Blusher & Highlighter duo profile 2410 3

I’ve been on a bit of a blusher spree.  I tend to go through phases and of late I’ve been on the hunt for that perfect pink blusher.  Not too candy pink, not too mauve, not too shimmery, just a pretty pink…do you know what I mean?

Pretty pink blushers aren’t really that hard to come by I suppose but I should add I also wanted to try more from Becca.  My first introduction to this brand is when I bought the Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed in Opal.  I mentioned this in my Sephora Beauty Haul here.  This is a gorgeous golden champagne highlighter and I’m certainly not disappointed with the Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild, which goes perfectly with the Shimmering Skin Perfecter.

Flowerchild is rosy pink with subtle golden flecks running through it.  It reminds me of Nars’ Deep Throat but is more intensely pigmented.  There’s no heavy swirling of the brush in the pan required and if you do, make sure you swipe off the excess on the back of your hand or on a tissue.  I normally just lightly tap the tip of my brush to pick up the right amount of product so as you can imagine this stuff is gonna last me ages.

The shimmer in the blusher translates on to the skin in a very subtle way and instead gives a more flawless natural finish.  That’s probably a good thing since the Shimmering Skin Perfecter finishes things off in that department as otherwise there’d be a glitter overload!

I’m sure you’d agree, for an instant perk to the skin there’s nothing like a pink blusher and a sweep of highlighter across the cheekbones and these two items compliment each other really well.  Both make the dullest of skin look fresh and glowing in an instant but softly softly I say as you don’t want to overdo things.

So what are your favourite blusher and highlighter combos?  Drop me a note in the comments below as I’d love to know. x
