• Thoughts on the Collection Cosmetics Budget Eye Palettes

Collection All About eyes profile v2

When I heard that Collection Cosmetics were releasing their Eyes Uncovered palettes which are available in Boots and Superdrug I remembered a similar palette I own from the brand – All About the Eyes Palette (above) which is in collaboration with Little Mix.

I had a sneak peek but I opted not to buy the new palettes which come in 3 different shades – nude, nude bronze and nude grey.

My quick and by no means thorough comparison told me that the new Eyes Uncovered palettes follow the same concept as the one above – the packaging is the same but of course with different branding, each has 6 shades and there’s no doubt they are an absolute bargain at just under £4.

But even the price didn’t sway me as honestly I haven’t got much use out of the All About the Eyes Palette since I purchased it many months ago and there are two main reasons for that: 1. The colours don’t show up very well on my skin tone and 2. I experienced a lot of shadow fall out and I think I’ll have the same issue with the new range too.

Now I don’t have swatches of the Eyes Uncovered palettes as I didn’t buy them but I’ll link Amelia Liana’s review here, who like most has some rave reviews on these, but it just goes to show how beauty is so personal and we all know what works for us….right?

What I have done though is swatched the All About the Eyes Palette below.  From left to right there’s Feather (pale pink), Sunkissed (copper), Golden Sand (gold), Dazzling Brown (taupe), Cocoa Dream (mid to dark brown) and Blackbird (black).  Although not all bad these swatches are after a heavy application and the more heavily I apply it the more the fall out and that’s even with using an eyeshadow primer.

I wouldn’t dismiss these palettes altogether though and whether you go for the All About the Eyes or the Eyes Uncovered palettes there’s no denying that for the price these are a good offering and you may have better experience than me.

Have you tried out any of the Collection Cosmetics palettes?  Let me know your thoughts.
