Ticking Off Some Items From My Wishlist | Nars x Erdem collection, IT Cosmetics, Dior Serum & Laura Mercier powder_

Creating a wishlist is great fun but it’s all the better when you start ticking it off.  I know I find it hugely satisfying, especially when you’ve been wanting those items for ages.  So here’s a roundup of my most sought after makeup and beauty products that I finally got round to purchasing over the past few months.

    The Nars x Erdem Collection

You all know how I love anything limited edition and if there was ever a collection that I had my eyes on for a while, then it was the Nars X Erdem Strange Flowers collection for Summer 2018.  Romantic and whimsical, the pale-blue packaging with floral illustrations is utterly gorgeous.  I eventually settled for their blusher in Loves Me Not and one of the lipsticks in Bloodflower.  The blusher looks almost lilac in the pan but it translates into a gorgeous pale pink.  It’s the perfect “goes with anything” blush as it leaves a subtle, natural finish and like all of the Nars blushers I have, the pigment and finish is superb.

Bloodflower is a stunning contrast to that cornflower blue packaging.  A bright, but warm-toned cherry red, this really packs a punch but is very glamorous at the same time.  The finish is opaque and semi-matte which I absolutely adore.

Ticking Off Some Items From My Wishlist | IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer

The IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer

I’ve always been incredibly intrigued about the much raved about Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer by It Cosmetics and when the brand launched in Boots a few months ago, I marched on over.  Extremely creamy, this really does go a long way and even a pea sized amount is too much.  I went for the shade Medium Tan which is actually too light but the next shades up were too dark so that’s something I think they could improve on.  Nonetheless, the coverage is great and it stays put all day without drying or creasing.  As for the colour match, I tend to mix it with my other concealers and this doesn’t compromise on the finish.

Although it wasn’t quite on my wishlist, whilst I was there I also ended picking up the IT Cosmetics Dual Airbrush Foundation Concealer Brush.  This dual ended brush has now become a staple in my brush collection and the smaller end is perfect for applying concealer whilst the larger side is a great buffing brush and works beautifully with liquid and cream foundations.  I can’t stress how heavenly this feels against the skin and the finish is just utterly flawless – I highly recommend it.

The Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder

I’m not one to use a separate powder for the under eyes.  But after hearing about the wonders of the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder it went straight onto my wishlist.  Luckily I haven’t been disappointed.  Extremely lightweight, this miracle in a pot designed specifically for the under-eye area is completely translucent and doesn’t settle into fine lines.  It contains oh so subtle flecks of shimmer which doesn’t really translate on to the skin but instantly brightens up the area.  The best bit is that it prolongs my concealer and I now can’t be without this.

Ticking Off Some Items From My Wishlist | Dior Glow Booster Serum, Too Faced Matte Soleil bronzer & Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to mermerise in Bette

A Much Needed Bronzer & The Dior Glow Booster Serum

I don’t tend to wear bronzer all over but I don’t mind a bit of contouring here and there, especially when I want to glam things up a bit.  For that, a matte bronzer is best and something that adds a natural shadow without being too dark nor too orange.  The Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer in Medium ticks all the boxes and is something I’d been meaning to pick up for ages.  It adds that much sought after dimension and structure whilst still being natural-looking on the skin. Oh, and with an irresistible chocolate scent and cute packaging to match, is it any wonder why I wanted this?

Next is the Dior Capture Youth Glow Booster Serum.  I’m pretty much sold when products promote that all-important glow; add the fact that it’s Dior and I want it even more!  This vitamin C in this serum is actually derived from kokadu plum, which is supposedly 100 times more concentrated than the vitamin c in an orange. Either way, it gently exfoliates the skin, revealing a fresh, radiant complexion.

In all truth, this truly indulgent purchase on my part probably isn’t quite justified, especially when there are other serums that work just as well, if not better.  That said, it’s a nice to have rather than a necessity. Yes my skin looks and feels smoother but I don’t think I could put this down to purely the use of this serum.

    Some Charlotte Tilbury Goodies

Of course a bit of Charlotte Tilbury would be on my wishlist. I love the Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadows and I have the colour Jean which is a beautiful champagne gold but Bette, the perfect bronze with flecks of gold has long been on my wishlist.  It catches the light beautifully and looks stunning both on its own or indeed layered with Jean.  See below for swatches.

Another must have for me and something that took me a while to finally get round to purchasing is the Rock ‘n’ Kohl Eyeliner in Barbarella Brown.  I’m a massive fan of brown eyeliner over black as it looks less harsh.  This kohl has a gel-like consistency and you don’t have to worry about being so precise either – a win win for me.  This stays put and gives that bit of edge to your eye makeup which you can build up if you want.

So that’s it…for now.  Clearly I’ve been on a bit of a spending spree of late.  But what about you,  have you bought anything from your wishlist recently?  I’d love to know. x
