• My Essential Accessories for the Festive Season

Without realising it I’ve created a little series for the festive season what with my evening bag essentials post here and my festive makeup essentials post here, so  I thought my essential festive accessories was in order, which is exactly what I have ready for you.

First things first, when it comes to putting an outfit together shoes always come into play and I love my Black Miss KG Peep Toes.  They are glam enough for an evening out but not too OTT that they can’t be worn with jeans either….perfect.

I love some good jewellery especially some statement earrings and the bigger the better.  I picked up these flower embellished teardrop shaped ones from Zara, not a usual place I shop for jewellery but these were a random and lucky find.  Otherwise, I love mooching around in Accessorize as it never fails to deliver in the accessories department and I’ve got these black and gold chandelier earrings which I have worn with so many outfits.

If it’s not the earrings that I’m going all out on then I most definitely glam it up with a statement necklace and see my post here on some of my favourites and how I like to style them.

For that arm candy some rings never go amiss. The selection I have below are from a mixture of Coast, Accessorize and some market stalls.  There’s also nothing like a stand-out piece when it comes to bracelets and I find Coast and Whistles best for this.  Whistles in particular tend to do some limited edition collaborations and both the black and white bracelet and the star bracelet pictured in this post are collaborations with Lulu Frost.

Of course an evening bag is important.  This multi-coloured one from Accessorize featured in my Evening Bag Essentials post but if I want a more neutral option then I go for this black and grey one in a similar design.

When it comes to the hair it’s not usual for me to make too much fuss but provided everything else is pretty low-key then a jewelled headband is a great idea and I have some from Accessorize including the one above which adds a lovely feminine touch.

Lastly, a shawl is a must – it can look very sophisticated and it keeps you warm too.  I love this black and gold lace one which I picked up from an exhibition stall.  Lace is probably my all-time favourite fabric and something I always gravitate towards so having it on a shawl makes it look so exquisite.

So these are just some of my favourite ways to accessorize for the festive season.  Do you have any other tips and what are your favourite accessories?   x
