Nars Blush, laptop case. Roberts Radio in Duck Egg Blue, Armani Prive Pivoine Suzhou & Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer

September is always my favourite time of the year, not least because it’s my birthday this month.  This post is a bit ahead of that though, so maybe next time I’ll get to share all of those lovely presents I’m pre-empting!!  It’s also the onset of autumn and although we’ve had some warmer days than normal, I’m still pretty much enjoying that autumnal vibe that September brings with it.

This month has certainly been a busy one and I’ve really enjoyed doing things I don’t normally get to do, like attending the Bloggers Festival arranged by Scarlett London, as well as a photography workshop on styling and working with natural light.  Both were amazing but the latter was definitely the highlight of the month for me and I’ll share more of that below.

    Armani Prive Pivoine Suzhou

But first let’s talk beauty favourites of which there are four that have really stood out to me this month.  First up is Armani Privé Pivoine Suzhou.  Inspired by the beautiful gardens of Asia, this is a floral fragrance with a twist. It opens up with fresh notes of mandarin, pink pepper and raspberry, followed by peonies and rose at the heart, and then musk, amber and patchouli at the base.  The twist for me is the masculine, cologne type edge that comes through.  This is a unique and exquisitely put together scent, whilst still being wearable. If you have been looking to try a fragrance from this premium line by Giorgio Armani Beauty, then this is a good one to check out.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail colour in Rose Ballet & Nars Blush in UnlawfulL'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Nail colour in Rose Ballet

My nail colour of the month has been the L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche A L’Huile in Rose Ballet.  It’s the most beautiful and warm, dusky pink colour.  In short, I love it.  Keeping in line with warm pinks, the Nars Blush in Unlawful has been added to my collection. This is a very pretty mauve-toned pink with a shimmer running through it.  It’s actually a lot darker in the pan than what the picture shows and leaves an understated warmth on the cheeks.

Next up is the Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer in Peach.  This is a hybrid between a colour corrector and a concealer for the under-eyes, which I now cannot go without.  I’m not going to go into too much detail on this one as I’ll be doing a review on this soon, but it’s definitely a good one.

I had a Roberts Radio on my wish list for a while and this was my favourite non-beauty purchase of the month. Admittedly, this was driven more by aesthetics than necessity, but I can justify it on the basis that I used up some vouchers which were otherwise going to go to waste.  I love the old-school vibe of this brand and hence the appeal, however, I still need to get used to all the cool features that this retro radio has to offer.  I can obviously play music on my i-phone or laptop, but this radio is duck egg blue, so obviously I had to have it!

On the subject of props, my photography workshop, which was all the way in Rutland was an amazing experience and I really was in my element.  It was held by the lovely Lyndsey James, creator and owner of Photoboards.org; I think photoboards are fast replacing my lipstick addiction!  As well as the opportunity to let my creative juices flow, I met with a wonderful group of women, each on their own journey and looking for inspiration for their businesses.  With beautiful food, macarons, cinnamon buns and cake thrown in, what’s not to enjoy??  Below are some of the highlights of the day as well as some shots I’ve been practicing with since.

Lastly, I always love a random find although it doesn’t happen to me very often.  This gorgeous Varsity Laptop Case was something I picked up from Typo, a store I hadn’t really heard of until now.  It has an Urban Outfitters vibe to it and they sell some very cool stationery, accessories and crafts.  I love the Ted Baker esque design of this case but it’s a fraction of the price at just £20.  It also comes equipped with a thick velvet type lining and pockets on the exterior for your pens and mobile.

So that’s it for this month.  I can already see October being another busy month.  I’ve got a few more workshops lined up with Kikki K and some posts I’m really looking forward to, especially my autumnal favourites; I had a field day taking the pictures for this one and can’t wait to share them with you.

What about you guys?  What have been loving this month? I’d love to know. x
