With the holiday season and those office parties and gatherings, your evening bag is probably your biggest accessory and vital for carrying those oh so essential items that you need to have to hand. Personally I really struggle with the mini clutch options. Sure they look all cute but you can’t get much in there or you spend half your time trying to find inventive ways to squeeze everything in……that’s just way too much effort. That’s why I like this Accessorize chain bag. I’m loving the colours and flower gems for a start and it’s just the right size to carry enough of my essentials whilst still looking dainty.
So what are my evening bag essentials and the things I carry with me every time…..? Well here goes:
Lipstick is probably the first thing that pops into my bag and for those that know me I very rarely carry just one. As a serial lipstick mixer I must have at least two and maybe a lip crayon thrown in for good measure. At the moment I’m loving the Tom Ford Lip Colour in Something Wild coupled with the YSL Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in No. 9 – Red Flash.
Carrying money and my mobile phone goes without saying and since my wallet is way too bulky it’s so much easier to take my Kate Spade card holder with me – it takes up minimal space and I can fit some loose change in here too.
Depending on how my skin is behaving itself I will sometimes carry a concealer with me. Usually it’s the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (see my post on this here), but lately I’ve been trying out the Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer. This is small enough to carry around in my bag should I need it and it doubles up as a foundation if I need a quick touch up…..I mean you just never know.
Of course that also means a compact powder to keep any pesky shine at bay is in order too and my powder of choice is the Chanel Poudre Universelle Compacte Natural Finished Pressed Powder. I use the loose powder version during the day so it is only natural that for evenings out I bought the compact version – I can’t exactly carry a big tub of loose powder with me can I? Since this comes with a mirror too I don’t have to carry a separate compact mirror with me, otherwise this heart-shaped one from Accessorize is perfect.
Perfume is a must and the Chanel Chance is my go to at the moment, not just because it’s Chanel but also because the bottle is small enough to fit in my bag. The other option is to take a perfume dispenser filled with my perfume of choice and you can see my post here for some of my favourite party perfumes.
Lastly I feel a bit lost if I don’t have these and it’s some mints, oh and the car keys and the house keys….the list is just endless, no wonder why a small clutch is just a no no!
