Blushers That Make You Pop

Hourglass, Laura Mercier & Nars Blushers

Even though it’s autumn and everyone likes those dark and sultry shades, I find it’s the time of the year when I need to “fake” that healthy look even more.  In the summer, the sun just automatically does wonders for my skin.  But in the autumn and winter, however, I need a bit more of a helping hand and blusher is something I always have to wear as I have a medium skin tone, that without blusher, can look quite sallow.  Luckily, I’ve found some favourites that are now staples in my collection for that healthy, but very natural pop of colour to the cheeks.

You can tell how much I love the Laura Mercier Second Skin Cheek Colour in Lush Nectarine as I’ve hit pan.  It is a gorgeous shimmery peach that imparts a natural glow without looking too orange.  Speaking of orange, another Laura Mercier favourite is the Second Skin Cheek Colour in Sweet Mandarin.  This is a deeper peach with more of a pinkish undertone but when applied with a light hand, looks very natural.

The cult favourite Nars Blush in Orgasm is said to give a gorgeous afterglow, and I have to agree.  This is a pinky-peach leaning more on the coral side if you build up the colour.  It does have chunky bits of glitter so there’s no need to go overboard with this, but applied lightly and you’ll have people ask you what your secret is!

Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild

Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild

For something that’s a bit more of a true pink, this Becca Mineral Blush in Flowerchild is so pretty.  It’s true to colour and is a warm-toned rosy pink.  I love pairing it with my Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal, which I spoke about here; the combination of the two is stunning.

Another pretty pink is Nars Blush in Deep Throat.  This is more of a peachy pink with a golden shimmer running through it, making it a universally flattering shade.  This is now my second one, so clearly it’s a staple.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette & Nars Blush in Orgasm

Lastly, this Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette is just a stunner right?  This palette is also a great way to try out these much-loved blushers, which are a mix of powder and pigment with a pearly iridescent shimmer.  The three shades work great on their own, or mixed together; I love swirling the brush in all three to get a unique, and so very flattering hue.  This palette was limited edition but I’ve linked a similar one above, or you can buy the shades individually.  In this palette you have Luminous Flush which is a champagne rose, Incandascent Electra which is a soft peach and Mood Exposure, which is a soft plum.
