Whilst I generally prefer powder eyeshadows over cream eyeshadows, I have become somewhat addicted to the By Terry Ombre Black Star cream eyeshadow sticks. I already have the colours Bronze Moon and Brown Perfection, which I’ve mentioned in countless posts and I couldn’t resist adding another one to my collection. In fact, Misty Rock, my newest addition, was what I actually wanted to buy in the first place but instead I opted for more neutral every day options.
Misty Rock reminds me of Mac’s Satin Taupe but highly pigmented and with a shimmering pearl effect. It creates a striking look and works well on its own or layered on top of another eyeshadow. My preferred way to wear this is to first apply my Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Jean all over the lids and then I go in with Misty Rock on the outer corners which creates a unique smokey eye. I also use it to line my lower lash line and the last touches include an inner corner highlight and lashings of black mascara to help make my eyes pop.
My other favourite is the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Rose Gold. The name itself just drew me in as I am a fan of anything rose gold. This is the perfect peachy beige champagne and like the By Terry Ombre Blackstar, this is also very easy to blend. Whilst great on its own, to add more oomph I pair it with Mac’s Naked Lunch or All That Glitters either underneath or on top and with a muted matte brown powder blended into the crease and a darker brown on the outer corners, I get a polished and classic finish.
I’ve even got my eye on a few more, in fact I just swatched the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugarfrost but they didn’t have it in stock….better luck next time. So have you tried either of these before and what are your favourite cream eyeshadows? x
