• My Favourite Luxury Beauty Brands and What I Think Are Their Star Products | Part One

A post on my favourite luxury beauty brands has been a long time coming, especially since I have built up quite a collection over the years.  The reality is that I have so many brands and products that I love, but rather than mention absolutely everything, I have decided to do a two-part series and narrow it down to the brands I always gravitate towards and what I have tried the most.

This is all in the arena of makeup with some fragrance thrown in and is ideal for those of you wondering where to start when it comes to buying luxury beauty, thinking of what to put on your wish list or just plain old intrigued about what I like.  Either way, I hope you find it useful.

    Chanel

Chanel is always the first thing that comes to mind when I think of luxury beauty.  For me, Chanel has that ultimate Parisian vibe about it and of course their products make for great props in my flatlays!  Chanel and perfumes go hand in hand.  The cult classic Chanel Coco Mademoiselle is a perfume I think every girl should own and I also think the Chanel Chance range is divine.

Although I’m not a huge fan of their foundations, I love their setting powders – both the loose version which you can read about here, as well as the compact version which you can read about here.

They also take out some amazing seasonal collections and limited edition palettes and I recommend keeping an eye out for these.  Their limited edition Chanel Entrelacs Palette, which you can read about here, is still one of my favourite eyeshadow palettes for day as it has the perfect mix of warm neutrals.

Some may argue otherwise, but I love the Chanel Le Vernis Nail Varnishes.  Again, they always take out some lovely colours with their collections but overall the colour range is stunning and those bottles…..

    YSL Beauty

When it comes to YSL Beauty, it’s all about their lipsticks and perfumes.  Hands down YSL packaging is just dreamy and I am especially obsessed with their Rouge Volupte Shine formulas and the Rouge Pur Couture Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stains.  You can also read more about my favourite YSL lipsticks here.

When it comes to their perfumes, two in particular come to mind and it’s YSL Black Opium Eau de Parfum which you can read about here and YSL Mon Paris which you can read about here.  I adore these scents and Black Opium, in particular, is a great one for the colder months and a favourite of many.

    Nars

Obviously when it comes to Nars, it’s their Sheer Glow Foundation which has me obsessed, literally nothing compares to this.  Overall though I think the Nars foundation range is very good and I rate them on their vast colour selection.  The same goes for their concealers, be it the Radiant Creamy Concealer or their Soft Matte Concealer which you can read about here.

Nars also really bring it when it comes to blushers and lip products and I love adding to my collection.  Their names are dodgy to say the least but the Nars Blush in Orgasm and Deep Throat are cult classics.  When it comes to their lip products, their Velvet Matte Lip Pencils and their Satin Lip Pencil range is fantastic – see my post here on my favourites from the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil range.  Lastly, the Nars Audacious Lipsticks are literally the most pigmented and true to colour lip products I own and you can see my post on some of my favourites here.

    Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown is one of those old-school brands that has something for everyone.  If you are the type of person who hasn’t found for instance the perfect pink or red lipstick, then I recommend Bobbi Brown as their lipstick selection is amazing with something to suit every skin tone.  I have so many Bobbi Brown lipsticks I should probably do a separate post on them.

You will know from my recent Makeup Brush Edit that Bobbi Brown’s makeup brushes are some of the best quality I have seen and I have slowly built up my collection.  You can find out about my favourite foundation and powder brush by Bobbi Brown here, blusher brush here and my favourite eyeshadow brushes here.

Lastly, and not an obvious one, but if you are looking for some basic eyeshadow colours I find that Bobbi Brown is often overlooked but you can find some hidden gems, particularly when it comes to base and crease colours.  You can read my post on some of my favourite eyeshadows from Bobbi Brown here.

    Kevyn Aucoin

This brand first came to the spotlight with the much talked about Celestial Powder in Candlelight which is still a firm favourite and worth the hype in my opinion.  They also, however, have a range of other products that don’t seem to get as much hype like The Precision Brow Pencil which you can read about here.

I also recommend checking out their Dual Eyeshadows.  Again, I think it’s easy to overlook these but sometimes it’s not all about the large do-it-all palettes.  I have come across some very pretty combinations in this range that will leave you spoilt for choice.

Lastly and literally my favourite go to concealer for blemishes is The Sensual Skin Enhancer.  I highly recommend that you try this out and remember, a little goes a long way with this miracle in a pot.  You can also read my post on it here.

So that’s it for part one.  Needless to say I want to keep trying more from these brands and my wish list keeps growing.  The  final part of this mini series will be coming up next Wednesday.  Can you guess what brands will feature next week?? x
