• My Luxe Lipstick Collection

There’s something to be said about beautiful packaging.  I know it’s what’s inside that counts and all that, but I can’t help myself, especially when it comes to lipsticks.  No doubt the high-end variety offer some very unique and über luxurious designs and luckily the actual lipsticks themselves are some of my favourites.  So, if you are looking to splurge on some high-end lipsticks, or just plain curious, here is an insight into my luxe lipstick collection.

How could YSL not feature here??  I’ve mentioned the Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres Glossy Stains in countless posts (seriously long name I know), and I’ve added to my collection with the YSL Vernis A Levres Vinyl Cream Liquid Lipsticks which are creamier, very pigmented and have a high shine to them too.  I have the colours 412 Rose Mix which is a bright rose-pink and 402 Rouge Remix, which is a bright cherry red.

Another favourite from YSL is the Rouge Volupte Shine Lipsticks, the formula of which sits somewhere between a lip balm and a lipstick.  These have a very creamy formula and offer just the right amount of pigmentation to give a more natural finish than anything too heavy.  I’m loving the colour 12 Coral Incandescent which is a bright coral.

Of course Charlotte Tilbury with its oh so lovely rose gold packaging is another favourite for high-end lipsticks. The one featured here is the Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Coachella Coral.  This is a medium pink coral with a satin and opaque finish and perfect for everyday wear.  I also love the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks and have the colours Sexy Sienna which is a peach and Lost Cherry, a bright pinkish red.

When fashion houses launch their own beauty ranges it’s so exciting, isn’t it?  That said, it always takes me a while to succumb to the temptation, mostly because I want to make sure I choose a colour that I will get use out of.  Luckily the Tom Ford Lip Colour in Something Wild and the Burberry Lip Velvet in Honeysuckle are my kinda colours.  Of course the branded embossing on the lipstick itself helps.  Something Wild is a pinkish coral and Honeysuckle is a peachy pink with a orange undertone and very natural looking.

You can never really go wrong with Dior in terms of formula, packaging and colour selection.  In fact, I’m pretty sure that Dior was my first high-end lipstick purchase.  The one featured here is Dior Addict Extreme in Cherie Bow, a peachy pink and very creamy in formula.  You don’t get this anymore but to be honest all of Dior’s lipsticks are amazing.

The Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipstick in 022 Red Bow Tie has some serious cuteness factor about it.  Super girly with its heart-shaped opening, this lipstick is great for layering.  The first layer applies like a tinted lip balm and the more you apply the more pigmented and shiny the finish – genius.  This colour is a lovely bright cherry red.

I thought I would leave the most outrageously decadent lipstick I own until last.  The Christian Louboutin Silky Satin Lip Colour was actually a birthday present from my sister last year.  It’s probably not something I would buy myself but as a birthday treat I am not complaining, especially so as the lip colour Torerra is a glamorous party red and just check out the box that it comes in.

These are certainly the most luxurious lipsticks I own, but what about you?  Do you have your eye on any of these? x
