I’ve meant to do little Kiko spree for a while now. There are so many reviews on beauty blogs of late and with it being so affordable and a haven for many a dupe, I was just waiting for my local store to be a bit empty as every time I pass by it is understandably rammed. Although everything is so appealing, I decided to stick to some eyeshadows…I know I know, I could have gone wild but put an affordable price tag on something and I decide to become all reserved – how on earth does that work?!!
First up are two shimmers. On the left below is the High Pigment Wet and Dry Eyeshadow in No.16 Metallic Rosy Beige, which as its name suggests is a subtle pink shimmer. This is great for making the eyes pop especially when used as an inner corner highlight. On the right is the Smart Colour Eyeshadow in No.2 Pearly Champagne. This is more yellow toned so the two are the perfect nudes to have in my collection and are great as a base either on their own or with a deeper colour in the crease. I also love the texture as they are smooth and buttery soft making application and blending a dream.
The next two eyeshadows below make for the perfect crease colours or for use on the outer corners to create more depth and both are also from the High Pigment Wet and Dry Range. On the left is No.47 Matte Light Brown. I would say rather than light brown it’s more of a mid-brown colour – those subtleties do make all the difference and you can definitely build it up to create a deeper brown. I also find it has a slight reddish tinge to it but nothing too obtrusive and for a matte it blends perfectly.
On the right is No.80 Pearly Iridescent Brown. This is matte in texture but with subtle reddish golden flecks running through it. Sounds crazy but there’s no overly shimmery look when blended into the crease and the colour itself is more of a charcoal brown and cool-toned than No.47 which is on the warmer side. I’ve yet to use the eyeshadows wet but I can only imagine that the pigment would be even stronger.
It took me a while to choose just these four as there are so many to choose from – around 91 in the High Pigment Wet and Dry Eyeshadows and 32 in the Smart Colour Eyeshadow range and whilst they don’t look like the most exciting of colours they are firm staples and exactly what I was after. What’s more, at just £2.50 for the Smart Eyeshadow and £6.90 each for High Pigment Wet and Dry Eyeshadows you can’t really go wrong.
